Electro-Voice has added two Bluetooth-equipped models to its ZLX series of portable powered PA speakers.
The ZLX-12BT (12-in 2-way) and ZLX-15BT (15-in 2-way) models are suited to music
playback or accompaniment and offer the same features as standard ZLX models.
QuickSmart DSP processing offers setup via four presets, sub/top system-match, two-band EQ, five user-programmable presets, visual monitoring of limiter status, input level control and meters and master volume control to optimise gain structure. Functions are accessed via a single-knob controller with LCD.
The speakers have 1000 W Class-D power amplifiers delivering up to 127 dB peak SPL using transducers designed and engineered by EV.
They contain EV-patented Signal Synchronised Transducers (SST) waveguide design. A three-handle design is integrated into a rugged composite enclosure.
Attero Tech is targeting large sporting venues, airport terminals, train stations, convention centres and corporate facilities with its Zip4 four-button IP audio paging interface.
Paging audio and bi-directional status data can be routed over a Dante or AES67 network to a DSP or other Paging Management System (PMS) controller to distribute paging audio to up to four zones or zone groups.
The Zip4 integrates directly with QSC’s Q-Sys PA router functionality running on a QSC Core series DSP, using the Zip4’s Q-Sys Designer control plug-in.
Bi-colour (red/green) Ready, Busy, and Zone Status LEDs provide visible indication of zone and system status.
TX Theatre Productions contracted Prosound to provide an audio installation solution at the Moses Molelekwa Art Centre in Tembisa.
Prosound installed a 6m x 9m Eurotruss box structure, and chose an Electro-Voice EKX powered system as the audio component. The installation is currently underway, and once complete, an ETC lighting solution is being considered as the lighting option.
Afro Bru, a brand new upmarket lounge in Maboneng has installed an Electro-Voice EKX series PA system in their prestigious venue.
Situated in the heart of Maboneng, Afro Bru is set to become the go to venue for the Sunday jazz sect, as they host live bands every Sunday in the recently completed split level room.
As per clients brief, Prosound supplied 8 x EKX12 tops and 4 x EKX15 subs, driven by the ever reliable EV Q Series amplifiers. Processing is done by a Rane Hal 1. This PA was chosen as it’s suitable for a venue that lays live music, but has to keep one eye on noise levels, as this is also a residential neighbourhood. The PA has been installed and flown on Eurotruss Tritruss. All work has been undertaken by Prosound, which includes flightcasing, cabling and install. The project has been overseen by Pepe Khumalo, who is also charged with making sure the events run smoothly and all equipment is up and running. Part of the after sales service offered by Prosound.
